After Tummy Tuck

Question: Every time I look at those procedure photographs it seems the scar is almost as
bad as the original problem. Here's this rope of sutured flesh glued across
your belly -- how sexy is that?
My "flap" is getting lots better -- I've had a lot of luck with yoga. It might
not ever be perfect, but every time I'm tempted to start saving up for its
one-stop surgical removal I see a picture of someone with the Frankenstien
line.
The reason yoga helps is because of isolations of the rectus muscles- the long
band of muscles that run from the bottom of your breastbone to the top of your
personal private-like regions. During pregnancy a low slung baby and bad
posture ( not that you can help it too much with jumbo junior riding around in
there) cause these muscles to slacken and divide sideways, kind of like a
curtain, so that by the end of pregnancy usually the lower rectii are riding on
either side of your tummy. In a lot of cases -- and maybe even in cases of men
who are overweight primarily in the belly region -- they have been stretched,
divided and slackened to the point that "losing the weight" isn't going to help
much in that particular area.
That's why you see pictures of women who have had tummy tucks plus muscle
repair -- the muscles they're talking about are the rectii.
Answer: That's exactly how my c-section scar is. Although it isn't hip to hip. That
must of been uncomfortable to heal. This was groin to groin way down low . It's
like a thin line, and I had the staples.
Where do the tummy tuck cuts go?
My sister-in-law had liposuction done her on abdomen, hips and thighs last
years. Several months later she had a tummy tuck to remove the leftover skin
on her abdomen. Both surgeries are MAJOR...one took over nine hours. She came
home after the tummy tuck with four drains, two front, two back, that drains
for weeks afterward. She had to wear a full bodysuit except for bathing.
The worst of it is that after the tummy tuck, the saddle bags on her thighs
came back. The doctor claims to be baffled by its happening and tomorrow she
goes back in for more liposuction from her hips to her ankles. He isn't
charging her for this one but she's spent over $25,000 so far.
BTW, the tummy tuck scar goes all the way around her body, as if she had been
cut in half and sewn back together.
