Cost For A Tummy Tuck
|
Question: I've just returned from the doctor with a quote on my tummy tuck. ..... $4,815.00 Cdn !!!!! This includes not only the removal of the
apron, but a complete reduction as well. Now I have to decide if I
really want to go ahead with it. The operation is 2 to 3 hours with a
couple of nights stay in the hospital. The recovery time is about 4 to 6
weeks & is a very painful one. I will not be able to even stand up
straight for the first 2 weeks and must wear something like a girdle. I
will now think about it and decide if I really want to go through with
it.
Can anyone give me some suggestions?
Answer: After losing 100 lbs very quickly at age 15 I had lots of saggy loose skin
on my stomach and thighs. It was still there at age 50 so I had a tummy tuck
and a thigh lift. Yes, it was painful and not inexpensive, but I would do it
again in a heartbeat.
I'm in Ontario and my doctor has already said that OHIP won't pay for it ;-(
I've decided not to go for the full tummy reduction but to just have the
apron taken off and I'm waiting for a revised quote on that. And yes, they do
give quotes just like any other repair job
