Liposuction And Tummy Tuck
|
Question: About 3 months after the birth of my twins (born at 41 weeks 6 1/2 and 7
lbs), I posted asking you all about my horrible wrinkly elephant skin, dried
prune "still look pregnant" stomach. You were all so very nice, symathetic
and funny. Most of you assured me that it would get better, but I am afraid
I must be the exeption! At 17 months after the birth, I still look awful. I
went to see a cosmetic surgeon to see if liposuction would at least help to
flatten it out. He discouraged me from doing liposuction on my stomac
because he said it would make the skin look worse! (my thighs, however, are
a different story...)
Anyone have any experience with this?
Answer: I have also been
"blessed" with the twin skin. My girls are now 19 months and I'm still
waiting for it to go away. I'm fairly small-- about 5'3" and 110lbs. but I
have loads of extra tummy skin. When I asked my OB a couple of months ago if
it would ever go away, he said it would if I visited a plastic surgeon friend
of his and gave him about $5,000! It's a good thing I have a good
relationship with that doctor or he would have had a bloody nose! My best
friend got married recently and I asked her mom if she had problems with
this-- her boys are now 25. She told me that she is still waiting for hers to
go away! So, I think I will just wait a few more years to see if more kids
are on the horizon. After I'm finished having kids, I'm gonna save for the
tummy tuck and the new bathing suit!
