Question: I have some wonders about liposuction.
does anyone out there have experienced liposuction or stomach
surgery? Or does anybody think of having it done?
Does it help?
Can anyone give me some suggestions or show me how to
find out these information?
Answer: I have experienced two liposuctions in the past and the results are mixed:
The first one was performed on my back, just above the butt, where I had a
concentration of fat (I don't know what else to call it) and the lower part
of my stomach. I was slimmer at the time, and so far, although I have gained
lots of weight since then, the areas look better than before.
The second one was done in april/may of last year, on the upper part of my
stomach; it was great until it lasted: I gained weight (about 30 pounds) and
it is again as it was before.
My recommendation to anyone who wants a liposuction done is that he/she
should wait to be as close as possible to target weight before getting it
done. The reason? Because I believe that it's at that point where you get
the best results and long-lasting ones.
For those of you that wonder what I based my recommendations on, my
step-father is a very well known plastic/aesthetic surgeon, with great
reputation in this area. He was the one that recommended me in the first
place that I shouldn't get that second liposuction done; he warned me of
what it was going to happen if didn't watch my weight and tried to convice
me that I should lose weight first. But, of course, I didn't listen.
Just one more thing: Liposuction is a procedure aimed at "taking off" fat
from reduced spots where it is more difficult to lose even with a correct
exercise and diet routine. It is NOT a way of getting slimmer.
