Liposuction Tummy

Question:

I recently had a tram flap on 10/9. Ten days ago. The breasts look absolutely great considering it's only been ten days. The lower stomach is very flatl, which is great because it wasn't when I went in. The recovery is ok. Kind of yucky, especially the drains; but it's definitely tolerable. My one problem/concern is that right below the breast and right above the very flat "tummy" is a big kind of huge bulge of what looks like just fat. I'm wondering (actually hoping) that it's a result of inflammation due to surgery and it will go down. Has anyone had this happen to them? I know that I will receive many replies to "ask my Dr.", I will and actually I did. Although, when I did last week he was very stressed and had absolutely NO bedside manner. When I see him next week I'm going to mention it, I don't care what his mood is in this time. I want to know what this flap is which is hanging belong my boobs kind of where my waist "used to me". Any info/experiences

Answer:

I had the same surgery last March and have the same bulge.

I understand that when my surgeon goes back to construct the nipple (only had one breast done), he will liposuction the tummy incision. They can't do the lipo when they do the initial surgery. Because of chemo and radiation, I won't have this done until next summer.

My wife had the same thing done 2 years ago.the flap on hers was drianage build up.I don't know if this what you have or not.Do what your heat tells you to doand never put off a question that you want answered. He is YOUR doctor you are HIS reponsability.

When I had my surgery the physician's nurse ( and I mean RN not an assistant) gave me her card. She was very helpful and answered most of my questions. Besides drainag bulge could be over things, First they tunnel a muscle which for me causes a ridge like area. If the bulge is at the end of incision it probably is skin oversewn to make skin for a nipple later on.
