Tummy Tuck Michigan
|
Question: I've started losing some weight but I'm starting to get some
significant skin hanging down on my belly. I've still got a long way
to go and when I get to a healthy weight, I'm prepared to get a tummy
tuck if necessary. HOWEVER, does anyone have any suggestions about
support garments or styles of clothes that I can wear in the meantime?
I have a hundred pounds to lose, so I'm looking at a year or more
dealing with the lose skin. To top it off, I live in the South, so
I'll be dealing with lose skin and the heat in a few months.
Answer: I have the same issues, I've lost 69# and have about 100# to go, but my
tummy is already hanging nearly 1/4 of the way down my thighs.
I wear elastic-type underwear, fairly tight, and the kinds of tight stretchy
pants that were popular a couple of decades ago...with big and long
shirts/sweaters over them. Support is the key word. Even so, it is evident
that my body is a strange shape as it is all (chest, arms, belly, thighs,
hips) sagging downward. I've read that my post-menopausal (complete
hysterectomy several years ago) skin isn't likely to shrink down much after
losing a person-and-a-half worth of weight, but I'm ever-hopeful.
I also find that using a blow dryer under the flap after my showers,
followed by a starch-free zinc oxide powder keeps rashes at bay. Of course,
rashes aren't as much of a problem at this time of year (in Michigan), but
certainly in the summer they can be.
