Tummy Tuck Pants
|
Question: A couple months ago they were advertising "free consultations" at a local
plastic surgery clinic.
It was a bad experience. He pulled my pants/undies down and started poking
and pinching my fat belly. Then he got a phone call on his cell and while
he talked, he continued to poke and pinch me. I was irritated. When he got
off his phone, he suggested a full tummy tuck. He told me that if I ever
lost the weight, I would have all this loose skin and would look terrible.
I asked him if he thought I should try to get to my target weight before
making a decision on surgery, but he assured me that it would be necessary
anyways. He never discussed health or fitness with me at all. But when I
looked at the pictures he had of before and after a tummy tuck, I thought
the big purple scar from hip to hip looked far worse than my flabby tummy.
So when I left there, I decided in earnest to change my life. I figured
that if surgery was going to be $6000, I could certainly justify spending
extra on a personal trainer, supplements, gym clothes, and just about
anything else that would help me achieve my goals. (and still have money
left over!) So, here it is, two months into my new WOL and guess what? I
have lost 3 inches from my low abs and the skin is contracting nicely.
Can anyone give me some comments?
Answer: About the poking and pinching.
Here in Toronto some hospital orderly has been posing as a "Lactation
Consultant" and making the rounds of the maternity wards, groping the
new moms. They nailed him two days ago.
If you are gonna go for PS, then its best to search around and find a good
surgeon you can trust and feel comfortable with and has a good reputation.
Don't hesitate to ask for references or patient referrals.
But I have to say - if you are 135, you are still about the same weight as
you were when I met you - and I didn't see any reason then for you to go
through a tummy tuck.
